Community Involvement

Help Save a Life! Register To Be a Marrow Donor
Bone marrow donors are needed within the Chinese Community for Glory Hom.
Glory Hom, daughter and only child of Rev. & Mrs. Roycos Hom (Oversea Chinese Mission, NYC), was recently diagnosed with Acute Myeloblastic Leukemia (AML). She is 19 years old and currently a straight A student at Wellesley College in Boston, MA. She is receiving rigorous chemotherapy treatment at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer until a bone marrow donor match is found.

OCM, in association with the Cammy Lee Leukemia Foundation Inc. (CLLF) and the Chinese unit of the American Cancer Society, conducted a Bone Marrow Drive last weekend with great participation from the community. Due to the critical timing of Glory’s situation, additional Marrow Drives are being planned for the following times and locations.

It is imperative that we register as many Asians as possible to increase Glory’s chance of locating a match. Local and national media will be contacted in hopes of reaching as wide an audience in the Chinese Community as possible.

Contact person: Alice Tam at 917-846-6363 or by email to aoltam@verizon.net.

We ask for your prayers for Nicole Howard.
Please consider registering as a bone marrow donor! The need is great to increase the pool for ethnic minority matches.
Consider hosting a bone marrow drive!
